Dinner and Johnny

When I was about 10 or 11 years old, my parents took me on a trip from Illinois to California. The day we visited Hollywood's famous Grauman's Chinese Theater, walked to a restaurant called Johnny's Steak House. We were sitting in a great big leather booth. My mother told me that Johnny Crawford was directly behind me sitting in another booth with his family. He must have been around 14. I was beyond excited since I had been reading teen magazines about him and I was a big fan. Our heads were practically touching. When he got up to pay the bill, my mother encouraged me to go say hi to him... but at that time in my life I was very shy. I missed a big opportunity.
